DevPay is a service from Amazon which allows us to charge you for using our specially designed AMI (Amazon Machine Image). You create an account at Amazon, and they bill you for all your EC2 usage, including any DevPay usage.

The DevPay version of CoovaRADIUS is designed to get you up and running with a dedicated CoovaRADIUS server, plus Drupal, with minimal investment. You pay a sign-up fee and a small monthly subscription (cancel at any time through Amazon), in addition to an hourly surcharge.

Run your very own Cloud Controller for your network using the best-of-breed cloud computing platform from Amazon and provisioning software from Coova.

What you get:

  • an Ubuntu Linux server provisioned in the Amazon EC2 cloud;
  • CoovaRADIUS pre-installed, Drupal ready to be installed;
  • a single CoovaRADIUS shared secret, network, and Drupal site;
  • an administrative interface to complete the installation;
  • optional direct access to MySQL accounts for RADIUS and Drupal;
  • SFTP access to the Drupal site directory to add modules and themes; and
  • ability to configure S3 backups and restore from S3 backups.

The process is simple. You will:

  • create or login to your Amazon account,
  • sign-up for Amazon EC2 services,
  • buy the CoovaRADIUS DevPay product,
  • configure your EC2 environment,
  • launch your CoovaRADIUS instance,
  • setup Drupal as captive portal,
  • and optionally setup to backup data to S3, and
  • configure your network to use the system.

Using DevPay, you can launch an instance just for testing. Or, launch a couple and configure them differently. Configure the instance to save your database and Drupal files to S3 so that you can restore the same setup at a later date.
